The $79 diagnostic covers the first 30 minutes on-site, a full system evaluation, and a clear explanation of what’s wrong + what it’ll take to fix it. It also covers travel, insurance, and professional tools/testing. We don’t waive the diagnostic fee—because we don’t hide it inside inflated repair pricing. You’ll get transparent options and pricing after we diagnose.
How do I know you’re not just guessing—what tests do you actually run?+
We don’t do “parts darts.” We verify the issue with real measurements (electrical checks, capacitor testing, temperature split, refrigerant diagnostics when applicable, airflow/filters/drain checks, safety controls, etc.). Then we show you what we found in plain English and give you options.
If you can’t fix it today, what happens next? Am I stuck waiting?+
If the fix requires a special-order part or a bigger repair, we’ll tell you same visit and give you the fastest path forward: what part is needed and why, expected timeline/availability, temporary steps to keep you safe/comfortable (when possible), and clear pricing before we proceed.

What if I don’t want the repair—do I still owe anything?+
Yes—the diagnostic fee is still due because you’re paying for professional time, testing, and the diagnosis. Even if you decline the repair, you leave with clarity (and usually a way to compare options intelligently).
Why is refrigerant so expensive—and are you going to push me to replace because of it?+
Refrigerant pricing can be high due to supply/regulations, and leaks must be handled correctly (EPA-compliant). We won’t push replacement just because it’s easier. We’ll walk you through whether it’s a leak vs normal charge issue, repair options and realistic cost, and when replacement actually makes more sense (age, condition, total cost, reliability).
What should I do before you arrive so you can diagnose faster (and cheaper)?+
These help a lot: replace/confirm filter size and condition (or tell us when it was last changed), clear access to the indoor unit/attic/hall closet and outdoor unit, and tell us what you’ve noticed (noises, smells, when it started, any recent power outages). This helps us diagnose faster and avoid repeat visits.
